Leather-appointed seats are available for all four rows, along with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat and heated front seats. The NV's payload capacity ranges from 2730 pounds for the standard-roof 1500 S with the V-6 to 3500 pounds for the V-8–powered standard-roof 3500 S. Although that's strong for the class, some rivals can tow more. With the V-8, that number jumps to 9400 pounds. With the V-6 engine, the 2020 Nissan NV cargo can tow a maximum of 6900 pounds.
High-roof versions of the NV cargo van are available, and Nissan offers two engines-including a powerful V-8-and many trim levels.
Although the NV passenger van can seat as many as 12, some of its rivals can handle 15. It also allows the NV to tow up to 9400 pounds however, its ride and handling aren't quite as carlike as some of its rivals, including the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Ford Transit. This body-on-frame construction, which is also used on full-size pickup trucks such as the Nissan Titan, has proven durable and dependable over the years. As with some of its competitors-including the Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana-the Nissan NV still uses a ladder-type frame design.
